In the midst of the Chelsea v Man U match at the weekend, EA Sports premiered this ad. This ad must have been at least a minute long and I watched every second.
There is so much talk about different types of communication and what’s right, wrong and indifferent but for me its about getting the idea right. This ad does just that, it works on so many levels from the actual shoot right through to broadcast on whatever platform. It entertains people and is emotive which makes me want to play the game.
Its well worth watching.

It’s fundamentally worrying that video game makers think their games replace the actual sport. The idea that sport can be replaced by a video game is not ‘getting the idea right’ and in fact has huge social consequences.
But I guess if it looks cool, right?
